How to read candlestick charts

Open, close, high, low, chart scale, and the direction of price movement.

1

Candlestick structure

Each candle describes price movement during one interval. The body shows the distance between open and close, while the wicks show the highest and lowest price reached.

2

Context matters

A single green or red candle does not confirm a lasting trend. Review the sequence of highs and lows, candle sizes, and nearby price levels.

3

Use the right scale

Before evaluating a signal, verify that the chart shows current candles and the selected pair. Keep enough history visible to see both the latest move and its broader context.
